Spectrum Services Group, Inc. is currently seeking an Experience Pharmacy Technician for the Federal Correctional Facility in Yazoo City MS This is a Federal Contract Job placement Need Pharmacy Technician Must have at least 1 plus years of Past Work Experience Must be able to pass a Background Security Check Pharmacy Tech Job duties and and Responsibilities Must be able to read and interpretg prescriptions and medication orders written by medical staff, Selection and retrieval of medications of correct strength and dosage from prescribed, transcribing prescription data to labels using computer systems, preparing prescriptions for review by a BOP/Public Health Service (PHS) Pharmacist prior to dispensing, and giving pertinent patient instructions when appropriate. Must be responsible for the running of all pill lines upon proper orientation by the Pharmacist. Assist the Pharmacist in ensuring the only medications listed in the approved BOP Formulary are dispensed and will ensure that requests for Non-Formulary medications are initiated and submitted to the Pharmacist for approval. Shall be proficient in maintaining adequate inventories of all medications and medical supplies and preparing the proper paperwork for replenishment of inventory, as well as maintaining an expiration date log to ensure that no outdated or expired stock remains in the inventory. Will assist in updating patient education literature, assisting in improvement of performance studies and also assist the Pharmacist in meeting policy guidelines for the inmates. Prepare recommended supply lists to order pharmaceuticals, maintain the pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion, maintain stock of appropriate forms utilized in the pharmacy department, and shall, in the absence of the Pharmacist, maintain the Pharmacy operation, within guidelines governing the duties of the Pharmacy Technician. Prescriptions must be reviewed by a Pharmacist prior to dispensing to the inmate population. The Pharmacy Technician should be able to accurately input a minimum of 25 prescriptions per hour. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Must have a minimum (1) one year of experience and be certified as a Pharmacy Technician, must possess at a minimum a high school diploma or equivalent. He/She must have at least (1) one or more years of experience. Background clearance packets submitted by potential contractor employees shall be accompanied by a certified or photostatic copy of their current license. Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certified,(CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross of American Heart Association.
